Depending on which Pi you are using, you need to solder to different pads.
Take your time determining where to solder. A mistake here might render you precious Pi useless!
Once you've established and marked the pads, layout the cable you are going to solder. Strip a small amount of protective covering and apply some solder to the exposed wire.
